One of the major problems in Indian sports is the involvement of politics. Favoritism, discrimination, and corruption are normal which affects the sports infrastructure in India.
People are in India not very aware that sports are a genuine career option. Indian cricketer KL Rahul's mother was satisfied when he got a job from the RBI.
Sports infrastructure is not world-class which is why we failed in many sports.
Salaries of support staff and coaches are not up to global standards which is why most people do not show interest in coaching.
In the limelight of cricket, almost all the other sports fade away. It makes the children thinking if they want to make a career out of sports then need to opt for cricket.
As of now if a person fails to make a career in sports then he/she may have to struggle for a living also.
