CAT 2026 official notification is released by the IIM Indore on 26th July 2026. As per the official document the CAT 2026 registration is starting from 3 August 2026 at 10:00 AM and was closed on 15 September 2026 at 5:00 PM. Like every year CAT 2026 exam was be held on the last Sunday of November which is 29th November 2026. Admit cards was be available for download from the 04th November to the 29th of November.
As per the official notification CAT 2026 result is declared in the last week of December 2026.

Important points to keep in mind
- CAT 2027 Exam will be held in three slots Morning, Afternoon & Evening
- This time CAT Exam will be scheduled to be conducted at over 420 Test Centres, spread across 170 cities in India.
- It offers candidates the option to select five cities in order of preference to appear for the exam instead of last year's six cities
- Syllabus and exam pattern remains the same as last year with 75-80 questions divided into three sections.
- CAT remains a computer-based test as last year. Candidates need to appear for the exam at test centers.
- The questions will be MCQs only. No negative marking for Non-MCQs
Slot Timings of CAT
CAT exam is conducted in three slots Morning, Afternoon and evening.
- Morning Slot - 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
- Afternoon Slot - 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM
- Evening Slot - 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM
Last entry for the aspirants is set half an hour before the exam commences.
