What is CUET PG

This is an entrance exam that enables you to get admission in various PG Programmes across multiple government and private universities in India, conducted by NTA (national testing agency) every year in the months of April and March. This Common University Entrance Test is not limited to only MBA, this exam is also useful for MEd, MA, MSc, MCom, etc. In 2026 the exam has already been conducted and results have been released on their website, now students are preparing for CUET PG 2026.

This exam doesn’t require college selection, you can select your paper code and after score card release based on your score you will be able to apply for MBA admission in multiple universities. For example, the paper code for mba is COQP12, Paper code for M.ed (Master of Education) is COQP15. You can check your subject's paper code on the official website.

What is CUET UG? and who takes it?

It is an national-level exam for undergraduate admissions known as Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate. It is take by class 12th pass-outs aiming for BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, etc. in central universities and by students targeting graduation in disciplines like Economics, Political Science, Commerce, and more. MBA, PGDM, and similar postgraduate courses need a graduate degree plus an appropriate entrance, NOT a UG entrance.

You CANNOT get into an MBA program in DU, BHU, or JNU via CUET UG.

CUET PG 2027: Expected (tentative) dates

NTA has not yet released the official CUET PG 2027 notification — it typically comes out only a couple of months before applications open. Based on how the last few cycles have gone, here's what's expected:

Here's how the CUET PG 2026 cycle actually played out, which gives a good reference point for the CUET PG 2027 cycle:

1. Notification released: December 14, 2025
2. Registration window: December 14, 2025 – January 23, 2026 (with a later extension for some categories)
3. Correction window: early February 2026
4. Exam dates: March 6 – March 27, 2026 (across 44 shifts, spread over 15 exam days)
5. Admit card: released in phases — March 3 and March 12, 2026, ahead of each batch of exam dates
6. Result declared: first week of May 2026
7. Exam mode: CBT (Computer Based Test)
8. Exam medium: Hindi/English (bilingual)
9. Total subjects offered: 157
10. Exam centres: 292 cities, including 16 cities outside India, across roughly 198 participating universities

CUET PG 2027 (upcoming): NTA is expected to release the information bulletin in December 2026, with the exam itself conducted in March/April 2027, following the same overall pattern as previous years.

CUET PG application fees (2026 cycle, for reference)

1. General: ₹1,400 (for up to two test papers)
2. OBC-NCL / Gen-EWS: ₹1,200 (for up to two test papers)
3. SC / ST / Third Gender: ₹1,100 (for up to two test papers)
4. PwD: around ₹1,000–1,100 (for up to two test papers)
5. Additional test paper (beyond two): ₹600–₹700 depending on category
6. Centres outside India: around ₹7,000 for the first two subjects

Fees are typically similar or marginally revised each year — confirm the exact figures in the CUET PG 2027 information bulletin when it's released.

Exam pattern for CUET PG MBA

For MBA, exam patter will have 75 MCQs type questions with marking of +4 for correct answers and -1 for incorrect answers. If you unattempt a question then this will deduct 0 marks. The duration for this exam will be 90 minutes. If you are a student who belongs to a rural area then you will face no issue with the paper medium because this exam is bilingual, which has both Hindi and English medium paper. All questions will be based on the subject specific knowledge and will be compulsory to attempt. That means if you don’t attempt a question then that will be marked as unattempted and have 0 marks for that question.

1. English Comprehension/ हिंदी पाठ बोधन
2. Maths/Quantitative Ability
3. Logical Reasoning
4. Data Interpretation (DI)

Target safe score to qualify CUET PG for MBA

Students who want to qualify this exam to get into good colleges then they need to have an understanding of how much to score. Total marks for CUET PG MBA is 300. So if you want to be on the safe side then you have to score at least 80-90 percent, which is approximately 240 to 270 marks.

But for colleges such as TISS, BHU and other good colleges, competition usually is high, so you should try to score more than 270 to be hundred percent sure of your admission. Other than a good score you also need some other skills in the area of group discussion and personal interview because before your selection you need to take part in them.
