That question is very important as many aspirants don't know about their eligibility, the minimum qualification for appearing in MAT is graduation in any discipline from any recognized University or equivalent recognized degree and what to do after selection in the MAT exam.

A final year student in any undergraduate can also appear provisionally but your degree must be completed before starting the admission process. Candidates need to present the final year marksheet in order to take admission in any of the recognized institutions. One important thing is that there is no age restriction. So if you are in your late 20s then you will not be restricted by your age to take this exam.
MAT exam happens in two modes one is CBT (computer based test) and other is PBT (Paper based Test) in both modes you will require a valid email address and phone number. These will be used for verification as well as communication. You will receive your admit card details in your mail. This exam happens multiple times in a year, so you can give this exam at your convenient time, also you can attempt it multiple times as there is no limit to attempts for this exam.
There is no minimum bar or weightage for graduation or in 10th or 10+2. But B-Schools accepting MAT scores can have their own criteria for admission. Document required for verification in MAT Eligibility criteria
You need the following documents that will be required for further verification, you also need to ask your college admissions officer for additional documents which will be required.
- MAT Scorecard, MAT Admit Card and MAT Rank letter: As your admission will be through MAT Score you will need all the MAT registration documents such as admit card, Scorecard and if you get the rank then your rank will be displayed on your score card. You can download these documents on MAT official website.
- 10, 12 and Graduation marksheets: You will need your education qualification details in your MBA admission, do keep in mind that your original documents will be required for verification as well as photocopies for record.
- Birth Certificate: You need to have a birth certificate to confirm your age and date of birth at time of your admission. If you don't have a birth certificate then you can contact your college admission department for resolution.
- Passport size photographs: You need at least 5-10 Passport size photos as these will be attached with admission form and other documents.
- Transfer Certificate (TC) and Character Certificate (CC): You get these documents from your previous college where you have pursued your graduation. These are very important documents without them your admission will not take place.
- Reservation Certificate/ Caste Certificate (if applicable): MAT doesn’t have a reservation system but participating colleges have their own reservation system, so if you are from reserved category then you will need a caste certificate.
- Migration Certificate: This certificate is for your admission, it means you are migrating from your old university to new university. By that you get new enrolment numbers and other details.
- Domicile Certificate: This certificate serves as proof of your permanent residence. This is a very important document that validates your state/union citizenship.
- Self Attested Documents: It's a type of document in which you sign photocopies of your Aadhar card, pan card and other documents to verify that these are true photocopies of original documents given by the owner. This self attested verifies the authenticity of documents without needing a notary.

Selection Process
The MAT score of any aspirant will be valid for one year, so if you are applying for B-Schools then apply to them within one year of your MAT result. After result declaration aspirants can apply to any of the institutions who accept the MAT entrance exam. Candidates should note that institutions may have different processes to select candidates for their program. Candidates need to clear the selection process in order to take admission. Participating institutes can take all the three or any two rounds.
