Why should you not worry about MAT exam dates? For MAT exam dates you need to understand how this exam is conducted. This exam is for MBA students and this exam was originally introduced to students by AIMA (All India Management Association), to ensure that all the students get fair and equal chances to get into top B-schools around the nation. To fully fill that requirement AIMA decided to conduct this exam multiple times in a year.
So you need not to worry about exam dates, as you can give it every 3 months. There is one thing that an MBA aspirant needs to keep in mind and that is this exam conducted via two modes one is PBT and other is CBT, the exam date for both exams are different. Generally PBT mode is held one week before the CBT mode.
This year also it followed the same pattern in May 2026 the PBT mode was held on 31 May. and CBT mode was on 14 June, around two weeks apart.
In February 2026 the PBT mode was held on 1 March and CBT mode was on 8 March 2026, again 7 days apart.
For the upcoming September 2026 session, AIMA has already announced the dates: PBT will be held on 13 September 2026 and CBT on 20 September 2026. Registration for this session is currently open.

Additional Date details of MAT examination
As you know this exam is held four times a year and its result also comes 4 times a year where the scorecard is valid for 1 year. The results come after a month of examination, so for February, results come in March. For the May exam the results come in June (declared 22 June 2026 for both PBT and CBT). For September and December, results come in October and January.
So for the September 2026 MAT exam your result will be expected to come around October 2026. You can check the results by your MAT registration credentials. This result will be valid for the year 2027.
What comes after result of MAT examination
After the MAT result you need to get your admission to B-schools for MBA, many of the colleges have their own admissions process and criteria. You need to give more tests that include, Personal interview and group discussion as well as verification of your academic background. These steps will help the colleges in the admissions process.
At the time of MAT registration, students need to choose 5 colleges that they want to attend, and AIMA helps them by giving respective colleges your details. After MAT exam result declaration, AIMA share your details with your 5 preferred colleges. But if you want to apply for more colleges than you have to apply to them on your own via their official college website.
MAT Exam 2026 Registration Fees
Candidates can opt for Computer Based Test (CBT) by paying a fee of INR 2300/-.
Candidates can opt for Paper Based Test (PBT) by paying a fee of INR 2300/-.
Candidate willing to appear in MAT can opt for either the tests i.e. PBT and CBT by paying a sum of INR 4000/- Those Candidates opting for both PBT and CBT will have the benefit of selecting additional 2 Management Institutions for sending their scores in addition to the existing option of selecting 5 Management Institutions i.e. they can select 7 Management Institutions in total.
