IBSAT Syllabus

IBSAT exam 2024 Syllabus is divided into subsequent four sections:
  • Verbal Ability Section
  • Reading Comprehension Section
  • Quantitative Ability Section
  • Data Interpretation & Data Adequacy section
IBSAT 2024: Section Wise Syllabus
Section-1: Verbal Ability

Total Number of questions: 50 MCQs

Verbal Ability is maximum scoring section in IBSAT with 50 questions. Major topics on which questions are asked in this section, are:

  • Synonyms/Antonyms
  • Word Relation
  • Error Spotting
  • Phrase Replacement/one-word substitute
  • Fill in the blanks
  • Jumbled Sentences

The complexity level for overall verbal ability section is moderate.

Section-2: Reading Comprehension

Total Number of questions: 30 MCQs

The Reading Comprehension is a separate section in IBSAT exam with 30 questions.

  • RC Section is not clubbed with Verbal Ability section.
  • There are typically 3 RC passages followed by 8 questions each, whereas one RC passage has 6 questions.
  • The RC passages in IBSAT is usually of 500 to 600 words.
  • Most questions are related to the RC passages and answers to them can be easily found in the RC passage itself.
  • Some of the questions are indirect and you must check the inference drawn from the passage.
Section-3: Quantitative Ability

Total Number of questions: 30 MCQs

Quantitative Ability section is a mix of all the topics in Mathematics. Total questions in this section are 30. All the questions are of Moderate complexity level.

  • Simplification & Algebra
  • Speed, Time, and Distance
  • Profit, loss & Discount
  • Permutation & Probability
  • Work and Time
  • Percentage
  • Geometry and Mensuration

The Quantitative Ability section in IBSAT is a good combination of problems including arithmetic, geometry, and analytical geometry. The questions are outlined on speed, distance and time, ratio proportion, work problems, heights, progressions, probability, percentages, etc.

Section-4: Data Sufficiency and Data Interpretation

Total Number of questions: 30 MCQs

Out of 30 questions in this section, 15 are based on Data sufficiency and the rest 15 on Data Interpretation.

This section has following major topics on which questions are based:
  • Data Sufficiency
  • Data Interpretation (Pie chart)
  • Data Interpretation (Line and Table)
  • Data Interpretation (Line, bar, graph)

  • IBSAT is Online Computer Based Test. Candidates should be able to operate a computer and have basic level computer knowledge.
  • Candidate can appear in only one session of IBSAT.
