XAT 2026 Registration: Complete Step-by-Step Guide

XAT exam registration is active for 5 December, 2025 (Extended to 11 December) after that students will not be able to register themselves. The registration process for XAT 2026 began on July 10, 2025. Many students register early so that they can avoid late time glitches. Here we will discuss how you need to register for this exam.


Step by step registration guide for XAT examination


The first step is to know your eligibility. If you are in your final year of graduation or already graduated then you will be eligible for the XAT exam. There is no age restriction, so you need not worry even if your age is above the usual range. One thing is to keep in mind that this exam does not have a reservation and because of that the fee for all candidates is the same.


First step: Create your account on XAT website


First step will be for you to go to XAT’s official website, the website address for XAT exam is xatonline.in , here you need to click on the Register button, you will be redirected to the registration page. If you are a new student then first you need to create an account then you will be redirected to the registration page.


To create an account click on “New User Registration” then enter details such as name, email ID and mobile number. You need to verify your email and phone number via OTP. After that you will be asked to set a strong password and you will be able to begin your registration.


Second step: Fill your personal information

Fill your personal information such as full name, date of birth, gender, parent/guardian names, nationality, complete address and category. These details will be mandatory for your XAT exam registration. You also need to enter your academic details as mentioned previously you will need a graduation degree as well as your secondary and senior secondary school details. If you are in your final year of graduation then you have to select the result awaited option so that you do have to fill in your final year details.


Third step: Upload Documents and Selection exam cities

After filling your details, you will be asked to upload your documents as well as Photo and signature. Your photo and signature should be in JPEG/JPG with photo size being 30-100KB and signature size should be 10-50KB.


You also need to select your preferred exam cities, you need to select 3 cities of your choice, keep that in mind that your exam center will be in your preferred city.


Fourth Step: Final submit and Fee payment

This is the last but not least step where students need to check their details before final submission. After fee payment you will not be able to edit your details, so do check all your details from your official document before clicking on the final submit button.

After all these steps print your application form as well as your fee receipt for future reference. Remember to know your account details that we have filled initially, you need these details to download your admit card and scorecard. XAT exam fee structure

XAT exam registration fee is 2200 rupees for all candidates and additional 200 rupees for candidates interested in XLRI programs. If you are an Indian candidate applying for PGDM (GM) via GMAT or GRE then you have to pay 2500 rupees. For NRI/Foreign/PIO/OCI candidates the fees become 5000 rupees, they can apply for one or more programs through GMAT.


Payment can be made using:

  1. Debit Card (RuPay / Visa / MasterCard / Maestro)
  2. Credit Cards
  3. Internet Banking (UPI)
  4. IMPS
  5. Cash Cards/Mobile Wallets

These are the payment methods candidates will get to pay their exam fees, when you submit your payment, wait for confirmation and avoid pressing back or refresh buttons. This will ensure that you don’t make double payments. After successful payment you will get and e-receipt, keep it for future reference.
