AP ICET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To apply for MBA or MCA courses through AP ICET 2025, candidates must meet specific academic and legal requirements set by APSCHE. These ensure that only eligible applicants are considered for admission under the rules laid down by the Andhra Pradesh Government.


Basic Eligibility Criteria For AP ICET 2025

  1. Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen.
  2. Local/Non-Local Status: Candidates must satisfy the local or non-local status as per the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions) Order, 1974.


Educational Qualification For AP ICET 2025

For MBA Admission:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university is required.
  2. Minimum marks: 50% for General category, 45% for SC, ST, and BC.
  3. Degrees completed via distance mode are accepted only if the university is UGC-approved.


For MCA Admission:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 or graduation level is mandatory.
  2. Same percentage requirements apply as for MBA programs.

Note: Candidates who passed all subjects of their degree in a single sitting are not eligible. Final-year students may apply provisionally but must complete the degree before admission.


Age Criteria

  1. Minimum age: 18 years at the time of admission.
  2. No upper age limit.


Relaxation:

  1. SC/ST/OBC and other special category candidates will receive age relaxations as per state government norms.
  2. Ex-servicemen and PWD candidates are eligible for additional concessions.


Work Experience

  1. Not mandatory for either MBA or MCA.
  2. However, candidates with relevant professional experience may have an edge during institutional-level selection rounds like interviews or GDs.


Category-Wise Eligibility

General Category:

  1. No additional requirements beyond basic eligibility
  2. Merit-based selection
  3. Higher cut-offs compared to reserved categories


OBC:

  1. Must produce a valid OBC certificate from a competent authority
  2. Non-creamy layer certificate may be needed
  3. Income certificate if applying for fee concession


SC/ST:

  1. Must submit a valid caste certificate
  2. 45% minimum in the qualifying degree
  3. Eligible for fee waivers, scholarships, and academic support programs


Physically Challenged:

  1. Must present a disability certificate from an authorized board
  2. Disability percentage must meet official norms
  3. Special exam accommodations are available


Local and Non-Local Status

Local Candidate:

Eligibility can be claimed through:

  1. 4 years of education between Class 1 and 10, or
  2. 7 years of study between Class 1 and Intermediate, or
  3. Parent’s residence or employment in Andhra Pradesh

  2. Residence/employment certificates
  3. Parent’s property documents if applicable


Non-Local Candidate:

Candidates not qualifying as local will be considered under the non-local quota. Separate merit lists and seat allotment rules apply.


Document Checklist

Candidates must be ready with the following at the time of counselling:

  1. Class 10 and 12 certificates
  2. Degree certificate or provisional certificate
  3. All semester/year mark sheets
  4. Caste and income certificates (if applicable)
  5. Study and residence certificates
  6. Recent passport-size photographs

  8. Aadhaar card


Important: Self-attested copies are not accepted. All documents must be original or attested by a competent authority. Translations are required for non-English documents.


Special Case Requirements

  1. Gap Year: Provide a valid gap certificate
  2. Name Change: Submit a gazette notification or affidavit
  3. Married Candidates: Provide a marriage certificate if surname differs
  4. Foreign Degrees: Equivalency certificate from AIU is mandatory


Document Verification

Document verification happens during counselling. Original documents and attested photocopies must be presented for review.
